OCTOBER is Dedicated to "MY FELLOW DAILIES GALLERY ARTISTS"

Welcome to the 'October' Photo of The Day Gallery. October is a special month for photographers around the globe who experience the Fall Season, weather changes where the temperatures start to fall and the green foliage starts to turn wonderful colors & multiple shades of orange, yellow & reds along with every other color in the rainbow. So sit back and begin to enjoy the following images of fall where color is the name of the game. Halloween will be upon us soon as will the ghostly images that come with it.

I'd like to Thank all of my Clients for your support during the year, the internet community and Especially all the very talented fellow photographers who take the time to visit my site each & every day registering 1000's of page hits a week and leaving all your wonderful comments on my images. It is for YOU who I continue this project of creating images everyday of the year. This project has been quite successful and very enjoyable to say the least and also keeps my creative juices flowing while I do what comes naturally to me because of the gift that has been given to me- Creating Art using my Eyes & a Camera!

I have made SO MANY wonderful & extremely talented Friends by doing this project who now give me the motivation & inspiration daily to continue working hard and who have shared their techniques & knowledge with each other so that we all benefit from it ultimately passing the skills learned on to our clients in the end. THANKS TO EVERYONE who has been there for me during the good times & bad during the past 7 months, your support has been nothing short of FANTASTIC! ~ Have a wonderful month folks !!!

Bill Pador > "Fading But Not Gone"
Today was a so so day here in good 'Ol New Jersey, the weather is rapidly changing to a winter feel needing a heavy jacket and warm shoes to walk about but even so our fall colors are fighting to stay around even after our first snow storm yesterday of 6" which just about wiped out what little leaves are left but melted just as fast as it came, but you can still find glorious colors scattered about the forest & mountains.

I didn't have to go far for these remnants of Autumn, just a 30 second walk down the street from my house which presented this scene which shows the light shades of browns in the grass that has gone into hibernation already, gray sky with a tad of blue for teasing purposes and some fading colors fighting to stay alive if just for one more week. These trees survived the pounding of mother natures winter fury yesterday so I thought it would be nice to capture & preserve the last memories of the best Autumn colors I can remember in recent memory here in NJ. So say good bye (MAYBE) to my glorious colors of days gone by, winter is finally here my friends!

Enjoy your day everyone, the weekend is almost here ;)

Bill Pador > "First Snow Fall 2008"
Hi all, first I want to apologize to my partners in the Challenge for being MIA for a few days. I was unable to complete the assignment due to a slight illness over the weekend and then a family emergency kept me from signing on to the internet for the last 2 days. Even if I would have completed my challenge there is no way I would be able to compete with the others submissions as they all did a wonderful job and I was just having a terrible week creative wise and then the problems over the weekend, Monday & Tuesday really slammed the door shut for me. Everything is back in order with the emergency so there is no need to worry about anything.

Today's shot is just a quick one from my front door showing our very first Snow STORM we got today with over 6" causing massive havoc and terrible road conditions shutting down just about every major road in the area with accidents, fallen trees and cars off the roads in ditches. It was an unexpected storm and no one was ready for it, my kids were even 2 hours late coming home from school as the buses were unable to navigate the roads. This shot was taken just as the storm was getting here and the accumulation started gaining speed very fast after that. Oh well I hope it gets warm tomorrow and melts this crap, I HATE snow and it's not a very good thing for my back injury either, makes life a painful reminder of all my injuries with weather like this.

Best Regards,
Bill
Bill Pador > "Lake Side Reflections of Color"
Some of the colors found by a Lake Community here in NJ. It's a gorgeous day here today and I'm enjoying a quiet relaxing day catching up on some TV & no kids in the house for a change. Hope you all are having a wonderful day as well.

~Bill~
Bill Pador > "Autumn Colors Fade"
As the Autumn Colors Fade they still present a colorful landscape here in New Jersey. The leafs are falling quickly and a nearing rain storm will probably knock a large amount of color from the trees as it passes through. I guess it's time to start firing up the Still Life studio indoors real soon and begin the winter practice of house hold macro shots. I've started writing down a bunch of projects to do for myself for when the time comes to be stuck in the house so hopefully I can keep myself busy and the ideas pouring from my brain. Sooner or later I'll be just like the kid on the old commercials staring out the frost covered windows looking at his bicycle all covered up in the back yard wanting spring to come LOL

Have a great weekend everyone and hopefully there are still some fall colors in your neighborhood.

~Bill~
Bill Pador > "Dream Leaf"
I promised 'Johnloguk' that I would post this one today since we had a very similar shot. The weather here in NJ is deteriorating at a rapid rate now and the colors are getting very scarce at this point. It has however been the best year in a long time for color like many other places in the world for some reason and was a delight to shoot every day for the last 2+ weeks. I just hope next year is comparable because now I've been spoiled by the rich colors of fall around here.

Business has been wonderful & I have really been enjoying my assignments lately. The last 2 clients were my favorite people to work for as they let me be my own person & artist and gave me full artistic freedom to do what I wanted with their images which makes things so much fun. I even learned a few new tricks & techniques along the way and discovered some short cuts on others.

I wanted to Thank You all for your wonderful comments on the last few images I have posted, as always you have all brought a big smile to my face on a daily basis showing why this group is such a great bunch of people. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and look forward to our next set of images with a Winter theme (yuk LOL).

Have a great weekend everyone,
Best Regards,
~Bill~
Bill Pador > "Peeking Through The Woods"
This shot was taken Voyeur style giving you a glimpse of the many colors surround these lake front homes. It's just amazing how beautiful the trees are around here, I'm just sorry to see it go away for the winter.

It's been a good but busy week for me, working on clients images till 4am 1 night and then again till 2am this morning but they were VERY Happy with the finished product so I'm happy.

Hope you all have wonderful day

Bill Pador > "Coming To an End"
Well the Fall Colors have treated me very well this year. It was a very exciting & productive season for color hunting and my successful trips day after day are now coming to an end. The leafs are falling from the tress faster then ever after a strong 10 day period where they were in full swing. Now as I look around they seem to be disappearing as fast as the clock hands sweep around every 60 minutes, bringing the dreaded winter months closer & closer. I still have a TON of images to process from my outings but they will get put into my Fall Colors Gallery soon. I wanted to do it yesterday but a last minute client booked a session that took me all day & not to process for gift purposes and my clients come first so I stayed up until 4am completing the job of processing over 800 images from the shoot.

This shot comes from a spot around the corner from my home again and I liked the way the colors blended with the nice blue sky. Very little processing was involved, regular sharpening and a re-size is about all involved here.

I hope you all enjoyed my Fall Color presentation this year and I look forward to grabbing some nice winter snow & ice scenes this year. I have a few SECRET spots I scouted during the summer so hopefully they pan out with some good images this year.

Have a Great Day Everyone !

Bill Pador > "Explosion Of Color"
I headed out today with the hopes of grabbing some of the last patches of autumn colors around the area and found myself right back to the fire road where I captured the back road image the other day. The sun was high in the sky and just a little off into the western skyline which was perfect for what I was looking for. Hoping to find a cluster of color I scanned the horizon and to my dismay most of the heavy clusters were all beginning to go bare. I tried several of my secret locations and did manage to get some decent shots but still not what I was looking for UNTIL - - "I LOOKED UP" !!! I was standing on the fire road when a bird flew from my right and as I followed him to snap a few frames off THIS SCENE filled my view finder as if I was led to it by a secondary force.

This image is almost straight out of the camera with the exception of my normal hit of unsharp mask, total processing time was 2.6 seconds!

I'll try & post the rest of today's shots tomorrow into my Fall Colors gallery after I return from my 11am clients portrait shoot.

~Bill~
Bill Pador > First let me start by saying THANK YOU for "ALL" of your wonderful comments on yesterdays image, I was very proud of that one but had no idea it would be such a hit with you all. I'm going to be entering that in a contest for fall colors that Karina has turned me onto and will also be using my Lake image from the other day as well, and have to choose just one more since they allow 3 submissions per person.

I've actually had a FANTASTIC day today not only because of your comments but I was just contacted via email from a long lost friend & family member this morning whom I was so close to I used to consider him my cousin and after he divorced my cousin we lost contact for the last few years. He found my web site some how and we talked on the phone just now and it's like we never missed any time. It was so wonderful talking to him and we have now promised each other not to lose contact again. So that topped off an already happy day for me.

This shot was taken on the way home from that FIRE ROAD shot and is actually where I turned off this road to the fire road. So I figured I show you what I was already looking at before I made my detour LOL. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and again Thank You so much for all your wonderful comments & support, I am one very happy artist today ;)

PS: If you'd like to see the other 11 photos from this series go to my FALL COLORS 2008 GALLERY where I posted them today

Best Wishes,

10/16/08
While Driving today I got stuck behind a SLOW POKE on the only single lane road leading out of town and was getting frustrated so I jumped off onto this small fire road and was shocked by the colors in this tunnel like ride. it was raining pretty good all day today so there was no sun and nasty puddles everywhere but I was able to snap this by opening my sun roof and sticking the D300 out on constant focus and shot it while doing about 10 mph. I was amazed by the composition I was able to get since I was in the center of the road and being above the car it gave me some extra height then the usual eye view, I think it worked out pretty well LOL.

In post I did a minor contrast adjustment and small crop off the bottom, that's it! I'm enjoying the colors here now but I see them disappearing very rapidly so I'm going to try and get some shots everyday now until their gone. It's supposed to get very cold here starting tonight in the 50's as a high during the day and low 40's to high 30's at night Brrrrrrrrrr. I got some other shots from today to process yet but I will be putting them in my Fall Colors 2008 gallery when there finished.

Hope you all enjoy your day,
Bill Pador
Bill Pador > "Mountain Of Color"
Good afternoon all, I'm having a decent day today without the same pain level as yesterdays miserable start. I wanted to thank you all for your well wishes & let you know I'm feeling much better today.

I shot this Mountainside just around the corner from my house while sitting in my car in the traffic lane LOL. It sits behind some homes along one of our main access roads and just 200' or so from the Stud Farm that I photograph all the time. I was able to shoot in between 2 homes to get this capture, so yes this is actually someones BACK YARD! Could you imagine waking up to this beautiful site every morning? On the top of this mountain lies part of the Appalachian Trail which I have yet to walk in the 12 years I've lived here, but one of these days.

Post consisted of a slight color balance in the sky and then I added a soft focus to the trees to blend & soften the colors a bit for a smooth look and that's about it. Total time spent on this one was about 10 min.

Have a wonderful day everyone !
~Bill Pador~
Bill Pador > "The Magic of Nature"
I think these are Red Maple Trees, I saw them as I was driving down the street and the pile of falling leafs caught my eye along with the fence. The cool thing about these trees is that they line a Christmas Tree farm (in the background) which is funny to me to have the fall doing there magic putting these to sleep while new born trees will continue to grow in different stages until Christmas time a few years from now just behind them. Post was done using TOPAZ LABS 'ADJUST' filter and that's all that has been done to this one.

I'm up early this morning because I woke up in a great deal of pain with my back injury and had to down my meds in a hurry. I was able to get my mind off of it by texting back & forth with my good friend John (300m) who always seems to be there for me at the right time. What a great friend he has been to me and helps me out more then he knows, so this is dedicated to him as my very good friend, Thanks John !

Well after yesterdays lack of creativity & plain old energy I felt MUCH better today after sleeping in until 1:30pm this afternoon. I woke up feeling refreshed but got off to a slow start. After a cup of Joe, my medication & a few minutes of stretching I was ready to go for day 226. After speaking to John (300m) on the phone I headed out to capture the quickly turning colors around town.

To start off, I didn't have to go far just by walking across the street from my house where the wood line was scattered with multi-colored trees & bushes for as far as you could see. Part of my trip brought me back to one of my favorite locales and THE LAKE HOUSE. I shot this wide angle from the west shoreline with the sun behind me blazing down on the far shore & mountainside which lit up like the Vegas strip at midnight as you can see. I was thrilled to see how cool the shadows & reflections from the shore glazed into the water reflecting not only the colors but a cool right angle in the shape of a 'V' & water so clear you could see the bottom. Without a cloud in the sky and the most PERFECT conditions for shooting I couldn't ask for a better day of relaxing & productive color chasing. This image has very little post with only being hit with a very slight crop & contrast adjustment and that's all folks, not even any sharpening was needed to show the mountainside scattered with the lovely colors of Autumn!

* To see the entire shoot from today, you can visit my "Brand New" FALL/AUTUMN COLORS 2008 Gallery It is FILLED with crazy colorful images that is sure to please every colorful landscape enthusiast !

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend and for all my American brothers & sisters enjoy your 3 day weekend compliments of Christopher Columbus!

Bill Pador > This hill side caught my eye while driving yesterday so I decided to use this one for the POD today. While doing post I decided to do an oil painting out of this one and hit it with a slight white vignette frame.

Today is one of those days where I feel I have absolutely no artistic bones in my body and just can't shake the feeling. I fell asleep in my office chair last night and now don't feel like I got any rest, have a sore neck and just plain feel like a truck went over my body and left me to suffer LOL. I can't even find any artistic words or funny comments to add to this image so let me get out of here before I drive myself crazy and maybe get a cup of coffee. I'm on the phone with John Murphy and we're working on our images together while BSing and he's laughing at me because I feel so Ugggg. I know it happens to us all but when it happens to YOU it doesn't quite feel too good. The lost empty feeling just plain stinks, hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Bill Pador > "The Eerie Lake"
I couldn't decide on which version of this image I wanted to put up today so instead of going nuts I decided to place them BOTH in my daily gallery since I was a day behind on my listings anyway. This is the B&W version that has been converted using NIK SILVER EFEX PRO and then adding an Orange filter (giving an infrared look to it) besides a few other minor touchings of Contrast & sharpening. The full COLOR version of fall colors can be seen as the next image in this gallery or if you can here by way of the Daily main page you can CLICK HERE
Let me know which one YOU like the best !

Enjoy Folks !
