"March 2009 Photo of The Day"
Thanks for visiting the March '09 Photo of The Day Gallery - This months POTD Gallery is a SPECIAL One for me because on March 15 this project will have it's first "1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY" ! That's right, I will have completed an entire year of posting a photo a day and I'm really excited to complete this project. When I started this journey I didn't know if I would be able to complete my mission but I held my ground and worked my tail off and now I can say I've done something that not a lot of photographers have even come close to !
Taking a photo everyday was not the only thing that was fun, but over the past year I have met so many Incredible Photographers, Artists & FRIENDS by doing this project. Not only did I make friends, but I have already gained a few very close LIFE LONG Friends whom I talk with on a daily basis like I would any other friend or family member along with discussing private & personal business so I want to Thank You for that (you know who you are guys!)
The incredible amount of Talent that is joined together in this group we call the "DAILIES" is just immense and I have gained so much inspiration, ideas and knowledge from them all and I want to Thank You all for that. Over the last year I have had many days where my disabilities have put me down and the pain I suffer on a daily basis has become unbearable, but the folks in the daily group have been so supportive sending me well wishes and making my life so much more interesting knowing that there are so many of you that care deeply about me & my health, I've been overwhelmed with the support I've received when I really need it, for that there are no words I can speak to let you know how much that means to me, I've said it a thousands times - The People of the Daily Group are the BEST and will always hold a special place in my heart - Thank You All from the bottom of my heart !
Here's to ANOTHER Year at the Dailies for me - I just can't stop this project now knowing that I'm loved so much here and would hate to lose the inspiration that I get everyday coming here to view every one's images, it's just too good to stop now, so your stuck with me for another year folks, sorry LOL !!!
Best Regards,

Happy Weekend Everyone ! Yup it's finally here so now what do we do? Play with Still Life that's what we do! I just purchased my monthly educational materials at the book store a few days ago which are 10 magazines (mostly UK productions) that I get every month to keep up on new techniques, software & equipment. I just hate the fact that they run between $10 & $20 a PIECE! I know it doesn't cost THAT much to put a magazine on a ship or airplane and your stuck paying because MOST of the great photo magazines come from the UK and we get them a MONTH behind too (so it must ship on a boat LOL). Anyway, a lot of them were concentrating on still life photography this month and I was inspired by these articles to hunt down a subject to capture.
This still life macro shot was born while playing with my cat Oreo. This is actually a CAT TOY, it's a ball covered in feathers that CHIRPS like a bird when you shake or move it. After I tossed it a few times I noticed how cool the feathers look under natural light. So I placed it on my bay window sill while the sun was setting and broke out my Tamron 90mm macro lens & tripod. To capture the most absolutely best detail I could I also used (Live View - which I rarely use) along with a cable release, the mirror up & delayed exposure functions to eliminate even the slightest shake or movement on the tripod. The result is seen here, which was finished off with some stacked edges using OnOne Pro Frames 4, then blurred & dragged with a custom brush in CS3 & a simple black keyline frame applied.
PS: Thank You for all the Wonderful Comments & Concerns for my health the past few days, I'm Happy to report my Spine is feeling DECENT today and that's all I can ask for at this point, so I'm pushing forward. Have a WONDEFUL Weekend everyone, be kind to yourself & someone else. You owe it to yourself to have some fun so be sure to get our there and crank off some frames, hit the dark room and crack a smile when your masterpiece is done ! Oh and then 'Show Them Off' in your Dailies so the rest of us can see ;)
