With all the cloudy weather we have had the last 2 days here I haven't had my chance to get out and shoot some of the fall colors starting to appear yet but they should be peaking in a few weeks and then I'll get my chance weather permitting. Bill Pador > I captured this Red Cardinal yesterday during the snow storm. He kept flying from this tree to my EMPTY bird feeder for about 30 min. I felt so bad that I had no bird feed left and couldn't help him & the other 20+ birds hanging out in my yard in the snow storms heavy winds and blowing snow. I have had this pair of Cardinals coming back each spring for the last 3+ years. I'm so happy he has returned and look forward to the signs of his return signaling that Spring is just around the corner. I'm off to get some bird feed tomorrow so he decides to stay around for a while and not leave for greener pastures LOL. I really liked how the sun reflected off the snow and lit his belly & head colors up like this, he almost looks like he's glowing out there doesn't he ? I only had my 200mm lens on, wish I had switched to my 300 or 500mm to get closer, oh well next time ! I'm so glad my Monopoly shot yesterday brought back so many memories for so many people, that means I did my job right. Have a wonderful Hump Day (Wednesday) everyone ! "ATTENTION CHRONIC PAIN PATIENTS" I have noticed that we have a LOT of people here on the dailies that are either Chronic Pain Patients like myself or have a close family member who suffers from a pain disability. I thought that maybe if there is enough of you interested we could start our own little PAIN SUPPORT GROUP. We could use email on a daily basis where we would all SEND & REPLY to 'ALL RECIPIANTS' when you want to talk to everyone about something, need support, have a question or just want to vent. Then we could also have everyone get a SKYPE account (if you don't have one already) and we could either Audio or Video conference once a week on a week day night that's good for everyone and have a little meeting to do the same. I have belonged to several pain message boards & support groups over the years and find that talking to others in the same situation helps a lot. If you are one of the people who emails me on this subject (you know who you are) or would like to help me start this group, drop me an email at billpador@gmail.com with your interest in this. Bill Pador > "The Red Barn" Using the new version of Topaz Adjust 2.6 this red barn found new life. I love the textures & colors this software put out and makes it so easy to grab the Dave Hill look. I found this old barn on the way to drop something off to my daughter at school and stopped in the middle of the street to shoot it LOL. It's actually in someones front yard. We're getting ready for ANOTHER snow storm tomorrow bearing gifts of 6"8" of the white stuff, boy am I tired of this ! Enjoy your Day, ~Bill~

Bill Pador > "Coming To an End" Well the Fall Colors have treated me very well this year. It was a very exciting & productive season for color hunting and my successful trips day after day are now coming to an end. The leafs are falling from the tress faster then ever after a strong 10 day period where they were in full swing. Now as I look around they seem to be disappearing as fast as the clock hands sweep around every 60 minutes, bringing the dreaded winter months closer & closer. I still have a TON of images to process from my outings but they will get put into my Fall Colors Gallery soon. I wanted to do it yesterday but a last minute client booked a session that took me all day & not to process for gift purposes and my clients come first so I stayed up until 4am completing the job of processing over 800 images from the shoot. This shot comes from a spot around the corner from my home again and I liked the way the colors blended with the nice blue sky. Very little processing was involved, regular sharpening and a re-size is about all involved here. I hope you all enjoyed my Fall Color presentation this year and I look forward to grabbing some nice winter snow & ice scenes this year. I have a few SECRET spots I scouted during the summer so hopefully they pan out with some good images this year. Have a Great Day Everyone ! ~Bill Pador~
Bill Pador > "The Magic of Nature" I think these are Red Maple Trees, I saw them as I was driving down the street and the pile of falling leafs caught my eye along with the fence. The cool thing about these trees is that they line a Christmas Tree farm (in the background) which is funny to me to have the fall doing there magic putting these to sleep while new born trees will continue to grow in different stages until Christmas time a few years from now just behind them. Post was done using TOPAZ LABS 'ADJUST' filter and that's all that has been done to this one. I'm up early this morning because I woke up in a great deal of pain with my back injury and had to down my meds in a hurry. I was able to get my mind off of it by texting back & forth with my good friend John (300m) who always seems to be there for me at the right time. What a great friend he has been to me and helps me out more then he knows, so this is dedicated to him as my very good friend, Thanks John ! Bill Pador > "Mighty Reds" best viewed large While on my nature walk I managed to find this huge clump of massive Red trees which are not that common around these parts. So I decided to capture them and see how it would look looking straight up through them. I had my 18-200mm on but I wish I had something wider or a fish eye for this one, maybe next time. It still came out like I thought it would and I'm really happy I found this growth of trees because they are really cool. I'm sure in other parts of the country these are plentiful but not here, matter of fact this is possibly the only time I have ever seen them here. Another good thing about this image is that I was able to get farther under them due to me shooting from a ditch giving a little more depth to the image. In post I enhanced the sun rays, pumped up the contrast a little bit and gave it a frame to match the mood. EDIT: Camel - The sun rays were produced by a Cokin Sun Ray Filter that disfusses the rays and then I also enhanced them in CS3 bringing them out more! Have a great day everyone ~Bill~
Bill Pador > Added 8/13/08-(#3 of 9) This old train is located near my home and is part of a small DISPLAY I guess you would call it of 3 very old train cars & ca-buss. I liked the way the windows were frosted over giving it a Ghostly effect against the blue sky in the background and the hills of rock in front of it.
