Bill Pador > Well I went with another Seagull shot today this time in flight & in color. Just having fun with my winter friends so why not right ! One thing i like about seagulls is their so used to being around humans you can get quite close to them without them being spooked so they offer excellent close ups. I'm still working on a batch I took of them so I would expect 1 or 2 more at least in my Extras gallery LOL.

Thanks for all the well wishes, I'm still having a bit of discomfort and really have only slept about 4 hours since Monday night. The rainy weather is supposed to pull out so that will help a bunch. So in the mean time I will just play with my Blackberry 'STORM' some more since I'm getting the hang of it now and making use of it's features, what a really cool piece of electronics folks, i HIGHLY recommend getting one if your in the market. Hands down the BEST phone I've ever owned especially if you run a business or studio of your own ! I even figured out a way to put all my blank studio contracts and model releases on it so they can be emailed right from my phone to a client in seconds, Pretty Cool indeed . . .

I'll try to catch up on my comments today, I'm sorry I got 2 days behind but I'm trying guys ;)

Bill Pador > In Post processing I gave this image my custom mix of Soft Focus & Orton effect that I've found quite attractive using the proper image. It also shows 2 different levels of sky blue colors and how a SUN DIAL works pointing towards 2pm when this shot was taken. Pretty cool indeed LOL
Bill Pador > "The Red Barn"
Using the new version of Topaz Adjust 2.6 this red barn found new life. I love the textures & colors this software put out and makes it so easy to grab the Dave Hill look. I found this old barn on the way to drop something off to my daughter at school and stopped in the middle of the street to shoot it LOL. It's actually in someones front yard. We're getting ready for ANOTHER snow storm tomorrow bearing gifts of 6"8" of the white stuff, boy am I tired of this !

Enjoy your Day,
~Bill~
Bill Pador > While waiting for my daughter to come out of school I decided to shoot this lake scene which is across the street from where I park & wait for her. It was just so very cold & raw outside and this communicates that perfectly to me. Processing was done using TOPAZ ADJUST filter, a keyline frame and that's it. During the summer this lake has lots of kids playing around & in it but right now it's a frozen tundra.

Hope you all have a great weekend, me I'm getting ready for a snow storm tonight & tomorrow ! Lovely right :)

~ADVICE NEEDED~
PS: I had to add this because I'm having a moment right now. My 15 yo daughter brought (2) boys home from school today (with my permission), 1 is her boy friend and the other his friend. I'm not sure I am ready for this and having a hard time relaxing LOL It's not funny so stop laughing to yourself right now !!! Anyone with daughters that could give me some advice on how to relax in this situation would be appreciated PLEASE LOL. I trust my daughter 100% to do the right things but it doesn't make it any easier, I'm starting to lose my first born to another guy and it kinda hurts in a weird way. Any Advice ????

Bill Pador > IMAGE #2 of 2 - 12/20/08

OK This is the second image of today's 2 part posting, we'll call this 'AFTER THE STORM' LoL - I used the snow blower to give the snow fall some scale. You know I always have to play around with my shots and this one was no different, B&W with Selective Color, also hit it with Focal Point to enhance the Bokeh and then Photo Tools for the Fade Frame. As I stated in image 1 we got over 14" of the white stuff and what better way to show it then to put it up against my snow blower that had to help me clean it up today LOL.

Another 6"-8" of snow is expected for tonight makes me wanna run away to Florida NOW and hit the beach ;) To see Image 1 of 2 today either click on the next image in my gallery or click here:

Bill Pador > Image #1 of #2 Today - 12/20/08

I just had to post 2 images today for a BEFORE & AFTER the Snow Storm we just had. This is Just a quick shot out of my garage showing the BEGINING of the Snow Storm that moved in yesterday. At the time of this image it had been snowing a little over 3 hours and we had accumulated about 4"-5" of the white stuff. As of this morning our total was a little over 14" but the BAD NEWS is that we are expecting ANOTHER 6"-8" TONIGHT on top of all this fluffy winter wonderland, YIKES! My snow blower is getting some over time work that's for sure, I've done my driveway 3 times over the past 24 hours and it looks like another 2-3 times in the next 24 hours will be in order.

Hey I don't really like the white stuff anymore mostly because of age and because of my spinal injury it reminds me too much of what I CAN'T DO anymore that I used to enjoy like Skiing, Sleigh Riding, Snowmobiling, Sunday Neighborhood tackle football pick up games in the snow etc. but I have to tell you it sure looks Pretty & really makes it feel like Christmas around here so I guess it isn't all bad right ;)

Have A Great Weekend Everyone !

Bill Pador > 3/14- Well this is another one of those "Damn look at that" moments at my desk. This is of all things the light on my WACOM Post Production Tablet I use with Photoshop to work on my photos. I went to pick up the pen for it and noticed the light (which slowly blinks) was reflecting in a plastic message note holder I have next to the telephone. So I installed my 90mm Macro lens and placed it on a tripod to get this shot with a slow shutter speed capturing the light going on & off for 1 cycle. NO Post Production has been done at all, this is straight out of the camera.
Bill Pador > 3/14- Taken in front of my buddy's house I just thought it was a peaceful scene. Several filters have been applied in Photoshop using Nik Efex Pro 3.0 like a Graduated blue filter to bring the sky out and a contrast filter. Colors were brought up using a color mask and curves adjustment.
